Petroleum prices likely to be reduced from October

The Ministry of Finance has issued a declaration on the prices of petroleum products.
According to the announcement, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs2.40 paise to Rs 104.06 per liter while the price of petrol, kerosene, and light diesel has been maintained.
Petrol price has been maintained at Rs103.97 per liter, kerosene at Rs65.29 per liter, and light diesel at Rs 62.86 per liter.
According to the announcement, the new prices will be applicable from 12 noon on October 1.
It is pertinent to mention here that on 29th September, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had put forward a proposal to reduce the petroleum products’ prices up to Rs2 per liter from October.
According to the details, OGRA had recommended slashing Rs2 per liter in the price of petrol, diesel as the petroleum prices in the international market have decreased.
The fuel prices summary for the month of May had been sent to the Petroleum Ministry. After the Prime Minister gives approval to the new prices, it will be announced to the public.
