Peshawar BRT to resume services from October 25
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser has announced that Bus Rapid Transit (Peshawar BRT) will be operational from October 25.
Confirming the resumption of BRT service, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Kamran Bangshan said that BRT station staff has also been called on duty.
It may be recalled that the BRT bus service was temporarily suspended after four incidents of fire broke out on buses in a month.
However, the closure of the service resulted in difficulties for the people who travelled daily.
On the other hand, Trans Peshawar spokesman Umair Khan said that the company’s experts have reached Peshawar and are inspecting the vehicles. Service will be restored only after regular inspection of buses. He said that Chinese experts began inspections after the fire broke out. All BRT buses were re-checked. The service will be restored after technical clearance.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Peshawar BRT was launched on August 13 of this year. The project was completed in 36 months at a cost of Rs69 billion.
