Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday said that government is ready to hold talks with the opposition on any issue, except NRO or corruption cases.

Ghulam Sarwar addressed a press conference in Rawalpindi today. He said that the opposition should sit with the government to reach a consensus on national and international issues such as Covid-19, the threat from India, Kashmir issues, electoral reforms, and economic problems.

He added that the government’s desire for negotiations with the opposition should not be taken as its weakness.

Moreover, the minister further said that holding public gatherings is a right of the opposition parties, but it could lead to a faster spread of the pandemic.

Above all, he said that if the Prime Minister has asked the opposition to suspend its public gatherings for two to three months; it is because of the public interest in view of the Coronavirus pandemic.

‘There are threat alerts regarding Jalsa’

Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has said that there are threat alerts regarding PDM Jalsa. He asked PDM to ‘stop playing with the lives of the people’.

Talking to the media, the Punjab Chief Minister said that it was not inappropriate to hold a rally in the coronavirus situation. “Situation of coronavirus is also in front of everyone,” he added.

CM Punjab continued that no procession is taking place around the globe. He suggested that the law should not be taken into one’s hands.

“Whatever happens will be in accordance with the law, we will follow the law”.
