Owner of leased PIA plane turned out to be Indians
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777 was seized at Kuala Lumpur Airport. The owner and director of the company that leased the plane to PIA turned out to be Indian nationals.
According to the spokesperson of PIA, the attorney of the airline is already present in Kuala Lumpur and all documents regarding the case have been sent to Malaysia.
It is pertinent to mention that passengers of the Pakistan International Airline’s seized plane in Malaysia will reach Pakistan on Saturday via Dubai.
As per the details, 118 passengers will reach Islamabad airport today at 11 pm through light no EK-614 while, 54 more passengers will be brought back through flight no QR-632 at 1:40 am via Doha.
“PIA acquired a plane on an expensive lease during tenure of PML-N”
Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) acquired a plane on an expensive lease during the tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) term.
Addressing a press conference, he said that PIA will appear before London court on January 22 and in a Malaysian court on January 24.
He informed the media that PIA failed to pay lease on time due to coronavirus pandemic but the Malaysian court issued an order without listening to the arguments of the airline.
