Public Accounts Committee Orders Full Investigation Into Broadsheet

The Public Accounts Committee ordered a full investigation into the Broadsheet.

Committee Chairman Rana Tanveer said that Public Accounts has collected more than Rs.500 billion in two years, this committee has received more than NAB.

Rana Tanveer said that if the Public Accounts Committee issues a production order of a member, it is not implemented.

On this occasion, Ayaz Sadiq said that the Speaker National Assembly could not stop the production order of any committee chairman.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) took note of the broadsheet issue and on January 19 called for a report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Auditor General and asked why and when the broadsheet services were procured. When was the contract cancelled? How much was paid?

Chairman Committee Rana Tanveer said that the allegations leveled against PAC in the cabinet meeting were rejected and the secretary would write a letter to the cabinet on the matter.

Chairman Committee Rana Tanveer said that the Prime Minister says that there should be an investigation as to who cancelled the contract with Broadsheet. We will investigate and inform the Prime Minister.

The committee members protested against the allegations against the PAC members in the federal cabinet meeting and demanded an inquiry. The chairman of the committee said that when the audit of the present government started, the ministers started shouting. 500 billion has been recovered.

Government member and member committee Amir Dogar said that he was present in the cabinet meeting and he would tell what happened in the cabinet in the camera meeting. Questions are being raised about the performance and credibility of the PAC. It was also said that the PAC goes beyond its powers.
