A two and a half years later, Pakistan and India have finally gathered on a single forum for negotiations over the Indus Water treaty.

As per the details, delegations from both countries are discussing ways to resolve disputes regarding hydroelectric projects, Pakal Dul, and Lower Kalnai dams.

Pakistan’s Indus Commissioner Syed Mehr Ali Shah said that they will not deviate from the stance regarding the controversial hydroelectric projects of India.

Indian authorities have said that they are allowed by the Indus Water Treaty brokered by the World Bank to construct the plants.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the People of Pakistan on the occasion of National Day.

According to the statement issued, Modi said that as a neighbouring country  India desires cordial relations with the people of Pakistan.
