In view of the third wave of coronavirus, it has been decided to shut the passenger train services once again for three weeks.

According to the details, despite the government’s safety measures, the number of corona cases is increasing day by day. Due to the increasing number of cases, the booking of passenger trains will be limited by 50% in the next two days.

Sources said that half of the passenger trains are likely to be shut down by the end of this week while the remaining passenger trains will be shut down if the situation of coronavirus does not improve next week.

Sources also said that the final decision on the closure of trains will be taken by the Railway Minister after meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Sources further said that the Sindh government is also in favor of the closure of trains due to increasing COVID-19 cases.

Coronavirus Cases In Pakistan:

Coronavirus cases are alarmingly increasing as Pakistan has reported 4,767 new cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest updates by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 57 patients have died.

Over 45,656 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours. Overall 10,066,726 tests have been conducted in Pakistan so far.

Moreover, 595,929 patients have recovered whereas 3,043 patients are in serious condition.

There are 264,607 cases of coronavirus in Sindh, 212,918 in Punjab 84,609 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 55,594 in Islamabad, 19,497 in Balochistan, 12,367 in Azad Kashmir, and 4,999 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

On the contrary, 6,229 patients have died in Punjab, 4,491 in Sindh, 2,283 in KP, 559 in Islamabad, 344 in Azad Kashmir, 206 in Balochistan, and 103 in GB.
