Punjab imposes ban over co-curricular activities amid rising COVID-19 cases

Amidst the increasing number of Coronavirus cases across the country, the Punjab government has on Monday (today) announced to ban all co-curricular activities and sports events in 7 districts of the province.

The Punjab School Education Department has issued a notification in this regard.

It read, “No co-curricular activity (i.e. sports, etc) shall be conducted in those districts where Covid-19 positivity ratio is more than 20 cases i.e. Lahore, Gujrat, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad subject to the resumption of the normalcy of education activities.”

On the other hand, Minister for Education Murad Raas has also posted the notification on his Twitter handle.

Pakistan Coronavirus Situation:

The ratio of active Coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surpassed 18,000.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), more than twenty people have so far lost their lives due to the deadly virus outbreak during the past 24 hours. The death toll, however, has surged to 13,227.

Around 34,347 samples were tested, out of which 1,592 resulted positive.
