Schools closure extended till Eid-ul-Fitr in Punjab due to COVID-19

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas on Tuesday announced that schools will remain closed till Eid-ul-Fitr in Punjab due to the significant rise in coronavirus infections.

According to the details, the minister took to Twitter and said that teaching process for Classes 1-8 in all private and public schools will remain suspended until Eid in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sheikhupura.

All Public & Private schools Classes 1-8 to remain closed until Eid in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Multan, Bhawalpur, Sialkot, Sargoda, Faisalabad, TT Singh, RYK, DG Khan and Sheikupura. Decision to be reviewed in 2 weeks.

He further said that, the teaching process for classes 9-12 will be resumed from April 19th, however only two days a week in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sheikhupura and DG Khan.

He wrote:

All Public & Private Schools classes 9-12 will be open only Monday & Thursday starting April 19th, 2021 in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Sargoda, Faisalabad, TT Singh, RYK, Sheikhupura and DG Khan.

The minister also announced the examinations for Classes 9 through 12 and O/A Levels will be conducted as per schedule in the province.

He wrote:
