Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiquar Visits Russia As Part Of Overseas Deployment

Pakistan Navy ship PNS Zulfiquar has reached Russia as part of its overseas deployment (OSD) and participated in a bilateral naval exercise.

The spokesman of the Pakistan Navy said that on arrival at the Russian port of St. Petersburg, the host navy and Pakistani diplomatic officials received the ship of the Pakistan Navy.

Senior naval officials, diplomats and local dignitaries, the Pakistani community were also present on the occasion.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Navy said that the audience was briefed on the role of the Pakistan Navy in maritime security in the region and that PNS Zulfiqar would also participate in Russia’s Navy Day Parade.

The Pakistan Navy spokesman added that the visit of the Pakistani ship would further enhance bilateral maritime cooperation.

Earlier on July 15, a Pakistan navy ship visited Portsmouth, UK as part of OSD. Upon arrival at the port, the ship was warmly welcomed by host officials.

During the port stay, Mission Cdr along with CO called on Cdr Naval Base Portsmouth.

During the interaction, matters of mutual interest were discussed.

Pakistan Navy ship also conducted 3rd PN-RN Bilateral Naval Ex WHITE STAR-III with Royal Navy Ship off Portsmouth.

Exercise encompassed advanced Maritime manoeuvre and was aimed to enhance interoperability & strengthen bilateral relations b/w two navies.
