ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Saturday dismissed an application for anticipatory bail filed by an accused who is charged for posting child pornography videos online.

The apex court, while rejecting the bail plea, said that child pornography is becoming a major scourge of the society and therefore its suspects do not deserve bail.

“The growing threat of child pornography must be dealt with with an iron fist,” said the court.

The court also pointed out that the alleged offender was booked for spreading child pornography online and the complaint was lodged directly by the Facebook administration.

The FIA Abbottabad has registered a case against the accused Umar Khan.
