ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate has issued a warrant to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, BOL News reported.

A case was registered at the Margalla Police Station after which the magistrate issued the arrest warrants.  A case under Section 407 (criminal breach of trust in respect of property) against Imran Khan has been registered in Margalla police station.

The court of magistrate Section-30 Rana Mujahid issued an arrest warrant against the PTI chief for his non-appearance in the case registered on August 20 for his remarks regarding Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry.

The FIR No. 407/22 includes four sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 189 (threat of injury to public servant), and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).

The court had ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) Margalla Police Station to present the accused Imran Khan Niazi, son of Ikramullah Niazi, before the court after arresting him.

Earlier today, the PML-N leadership held a scathing press conference against PTI chief Imran Khan and accused him of breaching the Official Secrets Act by taking the cypher from the PM Office.

The PTI immediately called off its press conference scheduled today and vowed to resist any move to arrest Imran Khan. PTI leader Asad Umar said they will address a presser tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon and give a befitting reply against the “lies” by the government.

PTI leader and former Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said the “political jokers” are a security risk for the country. He said the disparaging language used by Maryam Nawaz in the press conference cannot be commented and Imran Khan to enough to tackle them.

He said Maryam expressed her “desire” that Imran Khan should be arrested and Rana Sanaullah complied with the order. “Those desiring to arrest Imran Khan should know that he is not a person but the entire nation,” He said, adding that Imran Khan will not leave the field and run abroad

It must be mentioned that Imran Khan is facing contempt charges for his controversial remarks about the judge. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued an arrest warrant due to his non-appearance in court.

The court issued the warrant hours after the former prime minister submitted an affidavit in a contempt case against him, saying he “might have crossed a line” and was willing to apologize for his remarks.

On August 23, a larger bench of the IHC issued a show cause notice to Imran Khan after taking up contempt of court proceedings against him for threatening the judge during the rally.

The PTI chairman had staged a rally on August 20 to express solidarity with his chief of staff Shahbaz Gill after claims of torture inflicted on him in custody.

He warned the Islamabad inspector-general and deputy inspector-general that he would “not spare” them and vowed to file cases against them for torturing Gill. He said the judge who issued Gill’s physical remand should brace herself for the consequences.
