PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Haji Ghulam Ali appointed Muhammad Azam Khan as the Caretaker Chief Minister of KP.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali announced the appointment of Muhammad Azam Khan as caretaker Chief Minister of KP. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has signed the summary of appointment of Azam Khan as caretaker chief minister early this morning.

It should be noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the opposition had agreed on the name of Azam Khan as caretaker chief minister of KP.

Opposition Leader Akram Khan Durrani said that Azam Khan is unanimous candidate for the Caretaker Chief Minister and he is acceptable to all.

He said that “If they had not decided on the caretaker chief minister, people would have thought that they were still stubborn. For the first time in history, the name of the caretaker chief minister has been unanimously agreed upon.”

Awami National Party(ANP) leader Aiml Wali Khan said that ANP welcomes the decision to make Azam Khan caretaker chief minister. It is hoped that Azam Khan will run the system of the province in the best possible way.

Muhammad Azam Khan, who was appointed as caretaker chief minister, was a former civil servant and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Planning and Development. He also served as Chief Secretary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
