Islamabad admin stops policemen to use mobile phones

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has stopped police personnel to use mobile phones during duty hours.

A notification has also been issued in this regard according to which all police employees use mobile phones during office hours which is against discipline.

The notification states that all police employees should stop using mobile phones during office hours, while departmental action will be taken against any police employee who uses mobile phones during office hours.

The copies of the notification have been sent to all concerned officers.

On the other hand, the Capital Police Officer (CPO), Headquarters is considering confiscating the mobile phones of the police employees at the entrance of the offices.

Earlier, a policeman was injured and a robber got killed in a shootout between police and robbers in 9-I area of Islamabad, Bol News reported.

Police said police official Kamran got wounded. They said three dacoits were fleeing after the robbery. Upon receiving the tipoff, police chased the suspects. Police said during the chase the robbers opened fire on police officials.

“During the shootout, one robber was killed and two fled away. Search is underway for the culprits,” they maintained.
