ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Bar Association Pakistan (SCBP) has strongly condemned the illegal arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)  leader Fawad Chaudhry.

A statement was issued by the Supreme Court Bar Association Pakistan in which the SCBAP strongly condemned the illegal arrest of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry and demanded his immediate release.

The statement of the Supreme Court Bar said that Fawad Chaudhary is a former federal minister and also a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The SCBAP is deeply concerned about his arrest.

SCBAP said that the ill-treatment and handcuffing of Fawad Chaudhry is insulting behavior, the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees everyone a fair trial and fair treatment.

According to the statement of the Supreme Court Bar, the reasons for his arrest have no legal justification, the arrest of the former federal minister is a clear example of abuse of power and political revenge.

The statement by the Supreme Court Bar Association also said that the tradition of suppressing the voice of political opponents should end. Article 19 provides equal opportunities for freedom of expression to every citizen and added that if someone has committed a crime, he should be dealt with according to the law.
