Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announces school winter holidays in 2023
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially declared winter vacations for all educational institutions across the region.
The Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has communicated directives to schools, specifying that institutions in the summer zone (plain areas) will be closed from December 23 to December 31. Meanwhile, schools in the winter zone will observe an extended closure, with academic activities set to resume on February 29, 2024.
In the mountainous regions of KP and Balochistan, all educational institutions will experience an extended winter break lasting 2.5 months. This decision is attributed to the extremely cold winters in these areas, where temperatures plummet below freezing.
The prolonged closure aims to prioritize the safety and comfort of students during the harsh winter conditions prevalent in mountainous regions.
