Karachi Weather Alert: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Tomorrow

From February 29 to March 01 (Thursday-Friday), Karachi, Hyderabad, and parts of Sindh are expected to experience rain, wind/thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) indicates the approach of a strong westerly wave on February 29, likely affecting western Pakistan and spreading across most parts of the country by March 01, persisting until March 02.

Areas including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, and Mirpurkhas are expected to be affected by rain, wind/thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms during this period.

These weather conditions may cause damage to lose structures like electric poles and solar panels. Dry weather is expected on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

In terms of temperatures, Karachi’s minimum temperature is forecasted to range between 15-17 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday, while Hyderabad’s minimum temperature is expected to be between 12-14 C during the same period.

In the last 24 hours, most districts of Sindh experienced dry weather, with Jacobabad receiving 26 mm of rain, and Larkana, Mohenjo-Daro, and Rohri each receiving 05 mm.

Dadu recorded the lowest temperature in the province at 09 C, while Karachi and Hyderabad registered minimum temperatures of 17 C and 14 C, respectively, with relative humidity levels varying between 49% and 76% during the morning.
