MANSEHRA: A search operation resumed early Tuesday, Sept. 1, for Irish mountaineer Alexander, who went missing on Friday while descending the more than 13,500-foot-high “Musa Da Musalla” peak in Mansehra, as Rescue 1122 teams continued the search with determination and professional commitment despite rain and difficult weather conditions in the area.
SP Central Shahnawaz Khan quickly reached Siran Valley with five teams to take part in the search operation. He said the mountaineer Alexander and British national Alun David Cooper Cledwyn had traveled to Siran Valley to climb Musa Da Musalla. However, they had not obtained a no-objection certificate from the police or other concerned departments.
According to Shahnawaz Khan, both men stayed at the same resort on Friday night. The following morning, they began their journey and later reached the summit of Musa Da Musalla.
He said Alexander and Cledwyn chose separate walking routes during their return journey to make the descent more adventurous. The British mountaineer successfully made his way back and reached the resort on Sunday. However, Alexander remains missing.
Rescue 1122 teams from Mansehra have moved from Khori toward the difficult terrain leading to Pracha. Teams are searching possible locations and mountainous routes where the missing tourist may be found.
The search operation involves teams from Rescue, the police, the Forest Department, and local residents. They are working together to locate the missing tourist.
