The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has warned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government that if the oath is not taken on certain seats, the commission will be forced to postpone the Senate elections in the province.

The Election Commission has issued a decision regarding the postponement of the Senate elections.

It is written in the judgement that no voter can be deprived of the right to vote, and the Election Commission has clear authority to direct the concerned administration to take an oath from the petitioners.

In the decision, the Election Commission said that if the Speaker of the KP Assembly does not follow the court orders, the Election Commission can postpone the Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until the oath is taken on certain seats under the Election Act.

Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif met with young YouTuber Muhammad Sheraz. During the meeting, Sheraz’s parents and younger sister, Muskan, were also present.
