The Lahore Traffic Police has make stronger its restriction on unlicensed drivers, leading to a surge in applicants at driving license centers. In response, the police have announced a measure of relief for citizens regarding driving licenses.

Despite the efforts of traffic police officials to raise awareness and provide guidance, some individuals, particularly overseas Pakistanis, have struggled to pass the driving test on their first attempt.

In a recent development, the Traffic Police has revised the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969, reducing the waiting period for reattempting the road driving test from 42 days to just 15 days.

According to a post shared on the official Lahore Traffic Police handle, the aim is to streamline the licensing process. The road driving test evaluates driving skills on a specified course, while the e-sign test assesses theoretical knowledge within a two-week period. Successfully passing both tests qualifies an individual for a driver’s license.

This adjustment represents a positive step toward limitation the licensing process and promoting road safety in Punjab, ensuring that licensed drivers are skilled and responsible.
