Security forces killed two militants, including an Afghan national, during a high-precision intelligence-based operation carried out in Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 4, 2026, According to reports.

According to security sources, one of the neutralised militants was an Afghan national, recovered with an Afghan identity card, foreign currency, modern weapons, and a suicide vest. He was reportedly operating under the alias “Umar Bilal” and was identified as a resident of Khost province in Afghanistan.

Officials said the operation was executed on the basis of actionable intelligence as part of intensified counter-terrorism efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where security forces have escalated operations against militant networks in recent months.

Security sources added that the killed Afghan militant was actively involved in cross-border terrorist activities, and efforts are underway to dismantle the network linked to him.

They further stated that the latest operation forms part of a broader surge in counter-terror operations along border regions, where multiple militant hideouts connected to recent attacks have been targeted and dismantled.

Earlier, authorities confirmed that precise and coordinated cross-border strikes targeted militant sanctuaries and planners involved in recent terrorist incidents, resulting in the killing of at least 26 militants, according to official statements.

Officials said the strikes were conducted in response to a series of terror attacks, including the assault on a Federal Constabulary post in Musa Dara on June 9, 2026, a vehicle-borne suicide attack on a military installation in North Waziristan on June 2, 2026, and an attack on a police station in Bannu on May 9, 2026.

Security officials noted that Pakistan has witnessed a renewed spike in militant violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021, with cross-border facilitation networks remaining a key security concern.

They reaffirmed that counter-terrorism operations will continue with full intensity to eliminate remaining militant threats and restore long-term peace and stability in the region.
