PESHAWAR: A 20-year-old construction worker died Sunday after part of a building under construction collapsed on top of him, according to hospital officials.
The collapse occurred on Band Budh Bair Road in the Zangli Tila area of Peshawar, burying the worker, identified as Aamir, under rubble.
Rescue 1122 ambulance and rescue teams responded quickly after being alerted, pulling Aamir from the debris and administering first aid at the scene, officials said.
He was taken to Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition. Hospital sources said he later died from his injuries.
No further details about the cause of the collapse were immediately available.
