The Counter‑Terrorism Department (CTD) of Balochistan killed 14 terrorists in coordinated operations in the Darakshan area of Quetta and Barkhan district, officials said
According to a CTD spokesperson, an intelligence‑led raid in Quetta’s Darakshan locality triggered a firefight, resulting in the deaths of eight militants. Three CTD personnel were injured in the clash and were rushed to hospital for medical care. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site.
In a separate encounter in Barkhan, CTD teams killed six terrorists in another exchange of fire. Officials said the slain militants were engaged in sabotage and other subversive activities. Arms and explosive materials were seized from their possession.
The slain individuals are believed to be affiliated with banned organisations, though formal identification and investigations are ongoing.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the CTD Balochistan for its successful operation against the terrorist group Fitna al‑Khawarij in Quetta.
