ISLAMABAD: Major buildings in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were illuminated with the flags of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to mark the signing of a landmark defence agreement among the three countries.
The defence pact was signed in Makkah a day earlier by the leadership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, marking a significant development in trilateral cooperation.
In Islamabad, prominent landmarks including the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Prime Minister House and Parliament House were decorated in celebration of the agreement.
The capital’s major roads were also adorned with the flags of the three countries, while welcome banners highlighting the Makkah agreement were displayed across the city.
Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, major landmarks and towers in Riyadh and other cities were illuminated and decorated with the flags of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to celebrate the signing of the defence pact.
The displays reflected the importance attached by both countries to the new agreement and their growing strategic partnership.

Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has described the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement as a significant milestone in the country’s history.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Bilawal Bhutto said the agreement was a historic development that would further strengthen the defence capabilities of the participating countries.
He said the pact would serve as a guarantee for the secure future of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye.
Bilawal Bhutto also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal for their role in making the defence agreement possible, saying the pact was a historic document for regional and global peace.
