LAHORE: Junaid Safdar, grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony held in Lahore.
The wedding procession reached a private housing society in the provincial capital, where prominent political figures, including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, federal and provincial ministers, along with local and foreign guests, were in attendance.
The Nikah ceremony was solemnised by Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Allama Raghib Naeemi.
Junaid Safdar married Shanzeh Ali Rohale, granddaughter of senior Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and former Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Rohale Asghar.
The walima ceremony will be held today at Jati Umra, while the mehndi event took place at the same venue on the previous night.
The wedding celebrations drew significant attention due to the participation of senior political leadership and dignitaries from across the country.
