RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Khar, Bajaur District, targeting Khwarij militants linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khwarij.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), five militants were successfully neutralized following effective engagement by the troops. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the deceased, who were involved in numerous terrorist attacks against Security Forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.
Tragically, Major Adeel Zaman, 36, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan District and the officer leading the operation from the front, was martyred during the intense firefight. He displayed exceptional courage and gallantry before embracing shahadat.
Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The relentless counter-terrorism campaign, under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, continues at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan.
