RAWALPINDI: Decades after his supreme sacrifice, the bravery and determination of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, continue to inspire the nation as Pakistan’s armed forces paid tribute to the war hero on his 68th martyrdom anniversary.
The tribute highlighted his unmatched courage, devotion to duty and sacrifice while defending the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff; and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces honoured Major Tufail Muhammad’s remarkable services and sacrifice.
The ISPR said Major Tufail Muhammad displayed extraordinary courage while leading a daring operation against enemy forces. Despite suffering severe injuries during the battle, he continued fighting with unwavering determination and ensured the successful completion of his mission.
For his exceptional bravery, battlefield leadership and ultimate sacrifice, Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military award.
The armed forces also paid tribute to all martyrs who gave their lives in defence of the nation, stating that their courage and patriotism remain an enduring source of inspiration for future generations.
The ISPR emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s heroes will continue to guide the country’s defenders and serve as a symbol of commitment, resilience and national pride.
