KARACHI: Two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan workers were released and returned to the party’s Bahadurabad center Tuesday following a Supreme Court ruling in the Baldia factory case.
Senior MQM leader Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani received the workers, identified as Rehman and Zubair, along with their families at the party headquarters.
The gathering was attended by central party leaders, national and provincial assembly members, party officials and a large number of workers.
He praised the workers and their families for demonstrating patience, perseverance and courage during the most difficult circumstances, adding that the entire community was grateful to God for the vindication of their cause.
The Supreme Court’s decision in the Baldia factory case prompted the release of the two workers, who had been in custody. No further details about the case or the specific charges were immediately available.
