KARACHI: A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred near Kathore, involving an oil tanker, a bus, and several other vehicles, resulting in the deaths of 13 people.
According to police, the incident took place on Gadap Link Road, when a truck collided with a coach. Initial reports indicate that the coach was traveling in the wrong direction at the time of the crash.
Police officials confirmed that the victims included three women and several children. Some individuals reportedly fell off an overpass during the collision.
Rescue teams stated that multiple people were injured and are being transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
Meanwhile, IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho directed police to reach the accident site immediately and ordered the surrounding areas to be secured to prevent further incidents.
Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed profound sorrow over the fatal traffic accident near Kathore, Karachi, which claimed multiple lives.
The Chief Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and conveyed his sympathy to those affected by the tragedy. He also directed that injured individuals receive the best possible medical care immediately.
Authorities have been instructed to expedite the release of the victims’ bodies and ensure that all formalities and legal procedures are handled promptly. CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized that full support should be provided to the bereaved families during this difficult time.
To prevent future incidents, the Chief Minister has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the causes of the accident and assured that action will be taken against those responsible.
He also stressed that strict enforcement of traffic laws will be implemented to safeguard citizens and enhance road safety across the province.
