Pakistani commentator Ramiz Raja expressed his disappointment over Muhammad Amir’s retirement from international cricket at the age of 28. Amir on Thursday said that he had no intentions of playing for Pakistan anymore as he was fed up with the management.

He also added to his statement that, he was being ‘mentally tortured’ by the management. The left-arm pacer feels unfairly treated, particularly by head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach, Waqar Younis.

On the other hand, commentator Ramiz Raja called it an untimely exit of a ‘potential superstar.’ Turning to the popular social media site Twitter, Ramiz wrote, “Mohammad Amir retires. Sad untimely exit of a potential superstar!”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) later confirmed Amir’s retirement and said that the board respects his decision and no more discussions on his decision.

Ramiz Raja took a dig at Amir with his tweet as the pacer reportedly applied for a British visa last year. His wife, Narjis Amir currently holds a UK passport, hence Amir is eligible to get citizenship in England.
