Famed boxer Aslam Khan, who dies yesterday after a after a knockout during his fight, was laid to rest in Pishin here on Monday.

Political and social personalities including the district administration also attended the funeral prayers of Muhammad Aslam Khan.

According to media reports, during a boxing match, boxer Aslam Khan was knocked out by challenger Wali Khan’s lethal punch.

The injured boxer was rushed to a private hospital for treatment but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

Both the boxers belonging to Pishin district of Balochistan were fighting in the 80kg weight category.

The match between Wali Khan and Muahammad Aslam took place played for charity and some reports suggest that there were no medical personnel present at ring-side.

According to further details, “He didn’t die in the ring, He suffered facial injuries and there wasn’t anyone there to look after him.”

On the other hand, the Sindh government while taking notice of the death of Khan in Karachi has directed action against event organizers.According to sources, orders have been issued by the Sindh government to stop all illegal sports in the city.

A statement issued by Sindh Sports Adviser to CM Bangul Khan Mahar said that after the death of boxer Aslam, orders have been issued to stop all illegal sports in the city.

Moreover, authorities have launched an investigation after the incident that who gave permission to hold competitions illegally in the city, and to find out whether it was an incident or a targeted murder.
