Saracens maintained their unbeaten start to the Premiership season with a smashing victory over defending champions Leicester.

Sarries swept away Tigers with a sensational first-half performance in a rematch of the Premiership final from June.

At the StoneX Stadium, Alex Lozowski capped a stunning move before Ben Earl, Max Malins, and Ivan van Zyl extended the hosts’ lead to 14 points at the interval.

Saracens’ dominance was completed by Elliot Daly, Theo McFarland, and Sean Maitland, who scored three tries in three games.

Leicester’s James Cronin and Freddie Steward scored in each half, but that was it for Steve Borthwick’s side.

To make matters worse, South African fly-half Handre Pollard was forced to leave the game with an injury after making his debut as a half-time replacement.

Following two tight victories over Harlequins and Gloucester, Sarries used all of their talent to outclass their opponents and take the early-season lead.

Freddie Burns, whose last-minute drop-goal secured Tigers’ 11th Premiership title in the summer, put the visitors ahead early with a couple of penalties.

Cronin recovered Burns’ chip after Lozowski dotted down from a brilliant passing move that began in Sarries’ own 22 to give Tigers a brief lead.

Saracens dominated the rest of the first half. Daly broke away to set up Earl, England hooker Jamie George sprinted forward to set up Malins, and Van Zyl scored from close range on the stroke of half-time.

Leicester’s greatest period came after the restart, when Steward powered over in the corner, cutting the gap to nine points.

Daly, on the other hand, defied three tackles to thread his way into the corner, and McFarland bundled over from a metre out to put Sarries out of sight.
