Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev on Wednesday clinched the final two spots for the season-ending event, which will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin from November 13–20, completing the singles lineup for the 2022 ATP Finals.

Alcaraz, Nadal, Djokovic, and Medvedev are the four singles contenders this year who have climbed to the top of the ATP Rankings. The ATP Finals have been won by Djokovic, Tsitsipas, and Medvedev in the past. Djokovic, a five-time champion, can match Roger Federer’s record of six victories in season finales.

With six of the eight contenders at the year-end championships being 26 years old or younger (Djokovic and Nadal are the only exceptions), there is also a surge of up-and-coming athletes. The Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals have already been qualified for by all six of those athletes.

Only Tsitsipas has won the ATP Finals and the 21-and-under season finale in consecutive years (2018-2019). This year, Alcaraz will try to accomplish the same feat.

Chairman of the ATP Andrea Gaudenzi remarked, “The Nitto ATP Finals celebrates the best of the best in our game. Everything’s on the line for the players, whose remarkable achievements this season have earned them a chance to compete for its final title. Over more than 50 years this special event has created unique and unforgettable experiences for millions of fans, both in the arena and around the world. We’re thrilled to see the Nitto ATP Finals continue its incredible story in Turin this season.”

Also reserved are five of the eight doubles spots in the ATP Finals. The qualifying pairs are Thanasi Kokkinakis/Nick Kyrgios, Wesley Koolhof/Neal Skupski, Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury, Marcelo Arevalo/Jean-Julien Rojer, Nikola Mektic/Mate Pavic, and Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury.

The prize money for the Nitto ATP Finals this year will be a record $14.75 million. The winner of this year’s competition will get more than $4.7 million, the most prize money ever awarded to a single tennis player, if he or she lifts the trophy without dropping a set.

The ATP Finals in Turin will be held there for the second time this year. The drawing is scheduled on November 10th, a Thursday.
