Harry Brook of England kept up his fine series form by hitting a century against Pakistan in the third Test, which began on Sunday in Karachi.

The visitors’ score on day two was 254-5 after the second session, and they had lost only one wicket. After Pakistan’s first innings, England is still 50 runs down.

With the help of eight fours and three sixes, Brook scored 108 runs without being dismissed in Karachi, his third hundred of the series.

At the time of Brook’s century, England were 145-5 and in danger of being bowled out for a low score after being put in by Pakistan.

An embarrassing mix-up between Ben Stokes (26 runs off 33 balls) and Brook resulted in Pakistan’s only wicket of the second session.

England’s batting collapsed to 140-4 on the second day of the third and final Test, with spinners Nauman Ali and Abrar Ahmed of Pakistan taking three of those wickets.

Having started the day at 7-1, England lost three wickets in the morning session and now find themselves 164 runs behind Pakistan’s first innings total of 304.

At the break, Harry Brook was on 38 and Ben Stokes was on 25 as England sought to become the first team to win all three matches against Pakistan in their own stadiums.

The first Test was won by England by 74 runs in Rawalpindi, and the second was won by England by 26 runs at Multan.

Like he did in the first two Tests, when he scored two hundred against the Pakistan bowlers, Brook has gone on the offensive.

Nauman, bowling with his left hand because to the turn on the ground, bowled Ben Duckett leg before for 26 and then had the veteran Joe Root caught low in the slip by Agha Salman for zero off the next ball.

Despite the loss of two wickets, Ollie Pope held steady and reached his 11th fifty. Ahmed then bowled him for 51, giving him two wickets in as many days. In his knock, Pope scored four boundaries.
