Pakistani squad during strategy meeting
The Pakistani squad is currently touring Australia, where they will play a three-match Test series against the Australians, starting in Perth on December 14.
The Australian Prime Minister’s XI will play the Pakistani squad in a four-day match starting on December 6 in Canberra, prior to the Test series.
This will be Shan Masood’s maiden assignment as Test captain, heading Pakistan. After replacing Babar Azam as captain last month, he was selected as Pakistan’s captain for the 2023–25 cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.
Throughout the series, Australia will be captained by Pat Cummins, who most recently guided his team to the 50-over World Cup win in India.
Following the first Test in Perth, a match scheduled for December 26–30 will take place in Melbourne. The final game of the tour will take place in Sydney from January 3–7, 2024.
