Here are countries that wish to host Women’s FIFA World Cup 2027
The women’s football associations of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands revealed on Friday that they had jointly bid to FIFA to host the Women’s World Cup in 2027.
Following their submission of a candidacy last month, Brazil, along with the United States and Mexico, indicated their interest in hosting the tournament.
FIFA has given member associations till this Friday to submit their applications.
With the reasoning that it was preferable to submit a “well-prepared bid” for the 2031 edition, South Africa withdrew their application last month.
“Extensive and detailed consultations between the three federations along with key stakeholders including central governments dates back to 2021,” the Dutch football federation (KNVB) said in a statement.
“This has led to alignment around the belief that our three countries are well placed to stage a FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 of unparalleled quality and impact.”
The FIFA Congress will select the tournament hosts in May following FIFA’s on-site inspection trips to the bidding nations in February.
This year, Australia and New Zealand co-hosted the enormous event, which saw Spain defeat England in the championship match.
