The journey to WWE’s WrestleMania XL has begun intriguingly, with Monday Night Raw introducing Pat McAfee and Michael Cole as their fresh commentary duo.

After his guest commentator stint at the Royal Rumble event on Saturday, McAfee made a comeback to Raw in Tampa, Florida on Monday. He participated in the 30-man over-the-top-rope brawl, demonstrating his outstanding wrestling skills.

The ex-National Football League professional, who is 36 years old, met his former co-worker, Cole, at the ringside table, as reported by Daily Mail.

Cole revealed that he and McAfee will be the new voices of Monday Night Raw, with hopes of reviving their superb rapport from their time on SmackDown.

With his new role at the commentary table, McAfee is adding more to his already busy schedule of commitments and programs.

McAfee, who was formerly a colour commentator for WWE’s SmackDown on Friday nights, stepped down to concentrate on his new position at ESPN. “The Pat McAfee Show” transitioned to “The Worldwide Leader”, and McAfee joined the panel for College GameDay.

“The Pat McAfee Show” is broadcast weekly, while GameDay relocates every Saturday to a different site in American college football. McAfee’s readiness to take on an additional duty, involving travel at least once a week, is unexpected.

WWE’s recent action comes just days after it secured a new rights agreement with Netflix for 2025.

At present, it’s uncertain whether McAfee will maintain this role during the college football season, but he has publicly pledged to remain on College GameDay for 2024.
