During the IPL 2024 match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens on Tuesday, Sunil Narine, opening batsman for KKR, achieved his first T20 century.

Narine delivered a spectacular performance, hitting a century off 49 balls, including eleven fours and six sixes, surpassing his previous T20 high score of 85.

In doing so, he made IPL history by becoming the first player to both score a hundred and take a five-wicket haul.

Narine is only the third KKR batsman to score a century, following Brendon Mccullum and Venkatesh Iyer. The left-handed batsman has so far amassed 1313 runs in his career at a strike rate of 165.16, with one hundred and five half-centuries.

The 35-year-old offspinner has also claimed 168 wickets for KKR in 168 matches, with an economy rate of 6.73 and an average of 25.82.

In his T20I career, Narine has managed to score only 155 runs in 51 matches, averaging 10.33.
