The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that fitness tests for Pakistan cricketers will be conducted before the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
According to a media report, Test squad players are expected to be called on August 9, with fitness tests set for August 10. Some players may have their assessments earlier, depending on availability.
Additionally, centrally contracted players who are available will also undergo fitness tests. The announcement of central contracts has been delayed and is now dependent on players meeting specific fitness criteria.
Sources indicate that national cricketers will undergo five to six different fitness tests, assessed according to international standards.
It has also been reported that some Test squad members will participate in the first four-day match against Bangladesh A. Fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza are likely to be included in the playing XI.
Bangladesh is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on August 17 for a two-match Test series, part of the ICC Test Championship. The matches will be held in Rawalpindi from August 21-25 and Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
