The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced three new tournaments—Champions One-Day Cup, Champions T20 Cup, and Champions First-Class Cup—to its Men’s Domestic Cricket Season for 2024-25.
These new competitions will join existing fixtures such as the National T20 Cup, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, President’s Trophy, President’s Cup, and HBL Pakistan Super League 2025, running from September 1, 2024, to August 5, 2025.
Overall, the PCB plans to hold 261 matches across eight senior men’s tournaments during this period. This includes 131 first-class matches across three events, 40 50-over matches over two events, and 97 T20 matches across three events.
Additionally, the PCB will organize 11 development and pathway tournaments separately, along with fixtures for the Pakistan Shaheens and Pakistan U19 teams.
The new Champions tournaments will feature five teams—Dolphins, Lions, Panthers, Stallions, and Wolves—competing in a double-league format. Around 150 top-performing domestic players from the past three years, along with centrally contracted players, will be eligible for selection.
Former Pakistan cricket legends will serve as mentors, guiding the teams, and each team will have experienced support staff, including coaches, physiotherapists, and analysts.
The teams will have access to Regional High Performance Centres in Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Sialkot for training.
Corporate sponsorship, media partnerships, broadcast rights, and ticket sales are expected to provide additional revenue for these tournaments.
