Pakistan secured their spot in the 2025 Cricket World Cup by defeating Thailand in the 12th match of the World Cup Qualifier on Thursday.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first, posting 205/6 in 50 overs, thanks to Sidra Amin’s 80 and skipper Fatima Sana’s 62-run innings.

Pakistan’s women’s team bowled out Thailand for 118 while defending a target of 206, securing an 87-run victory.

Rameen Shamim, Fatima Sana, and Nashra Sandhu each took three wickets for the Greenshirts, while Sadia Iqbal claimed one. The team remains unbeaten with four wins in four matches and is set to play their final game against Bangladesh on April 19.

Pakistan’s women’s team opened the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier by defeating Ireland by 38 runs.

The national side then defeated Scotland by six wickets and crushed West Indies by 65 runs in their third game. With four consecutive victories, the Pakistan women’s team became the first to qualify for the Cricket World Cup 2025, which India will host later this year.

The six-team WC Qualifier features Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and West Indies alongside hosts Pakistan in a single-league round-robin format, with all matches being played at the Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA ground in Lahore.

The tournament is scheduled to determine the two qualifiers for the 2025 Women’s World Cup, which will be held later this year in India.
