Karachi Kings have made a statement ahead of PSL 11 by directly signing explosive England all-rounder Moeen Ali, as the league prepares to kick off on 26 March.

The 2020 PSL champions announced the blockbuster acquisition on their social media channels “We’re thrilled to welcome England’s powerhouse, Moeen Ali, to the #KingsSquad for PKR 6.44 crore in the HBL PSL,” the post read.

The Birmingham-born star brings a wealth of experience from the global T20 circuit. Moeen Ali previously featured in the PSL with Multan Sultans, playing nine matches between 2019 and 2021, and has been a consistent presence in the IPL since 2018 across three franchises.

In addition to this marquee signing, Karachi Kings revealed the retention prices for their four retained players ahead of the PSL 11 auction on 11 February.

Hasan leads the pack with PKR 47.6 million, followed by Khushdil at PKR 33.6 million, Afridi at PKR 30.8 million, and Saad, retained in the emerging category, at PKR 6 million.

Under the league’s revamped auction-based model, each franchise has a total budget of PKR 450 million, with an extra PKR 55 million reserved for direct signings.

PSL 11 marks a historic shift, replacing the traditional draft system with a full-scale auction, promising high-octane competition in player recruitment.
