The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from all domestic and international cricket for two years. He has also been fined PKR 1 million.
The action follows a PCB inquiry into the information Hamza Nazar submitted while applying for a visa through the board. The inquiry found that he failed to provide complete and accurate information, submitted misleading details, and withheld material facts during the visa application process.
The PCB formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter. Hamza Nazar was given an opportunity to explain his position and respond to the allegations during the proceedings.
After reviewing his explanation, examining the available evidence, and considering all relevant circumstances, the committee submitted its findings and recommendations to the PCB.
Following a detailed review of the committee’s report, the PCB banned Hamza Nazar from all forms of domestic and international cricket for two years and imposed a fine of PKR 1 million.
The PCB said it treats cases involving misrepresentation, non-disclosure, and misleading information with the utmost seriousness. According to the board, such conduct is inconsistent with the standards of honesty, professionalism, and responsibility expected of individuals associated with Pakistan cricket.
The board also said it will not allow anyone to damage the reputation of the PCB, Pakistan cricket, or the millions of fans who support and cherish the game.
