Olympic gold medalist and 2019 Women’s World Cup champion Crystal Dunn has announced her retirement from professional soccer, bringing an illustrious career spanning over a decade to a close.

The 33-year-old forward made the announcement on Thursday, January 29, sharing a carousel of iconic moments from her career on Instagram alongside a heartfelt message to fans.

Dunn reflected on her journey, stating: “Today, I am announcing my retirement. This decision has not come easily, but I am at peace and profoundly fulfilled with all that I have accomplished. I’ve chased my dreams relentlessly and given everything I had to this sport.”

She continued, “I first kicked a soccer ball at the age of four, never imagining it would shape my life and deliver moments beyond my wildest dreams. My journey wasn’t flawless, but it was extraordinary packed with trophies, medals, lessons, and the indescribable joy of welcoming a child along the way.”

Dunn was a cornerstone of the US Women’s National Team, earning 160 caps and scoring 25 goals, including pivotal contributions to the 2019 World Cup triumph.

Looking ahead, Dunn shared her plans beyond the pitch: “I’m excited to embrace the life that awaits me off the field.
