Mark Zuckerberg’s cell-phone number leaked in Facebook hack

The world’s largest social networking site Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s private cell phone number went viral on hacking websites.

As per reports, the Facebook owner’s number was in the cache which went online but, Facebook dismissed it as “very old” and likely not a threat to anyone else.

A cybersecurity expert Dave Walker said that “this data leak also contains the contact detail of Mark. His data is among the 32 million users (3.2 crores) in the United States whose data is leaked.”

Earlier, the private information of almost 500 million Facebook users around the world including their phone numbers has been posted to a website used by hackers, cybersecurity experts said.

According to the reports, the records showed that more than 32 million accounts in the United States, 11 million in the United Kingdom, and 6 million in India, according to Alon Gal, the CTO of cyber intelligence firm Hudson Rock.

The details of the users include their full name, location, birthday, email addresses, phone number, and relationship status.

Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone told the international news agency on Saturday that,

“This is old data that was previously reported on in 2019. We found and fixed this issue in August 2019.”
