In order to get back the trust of users, WhatsApp recapitulated the argument of whether users’ conversations on the app will remain protected. The platform suggested that there is no way for the end-to-end encryption of conversations to change.

WhatsApp made an official announcement on its Twitter account, “Whatever you share on WhatsApp, stays between you. That’s because your personal messages are protected by end-to-end encryption and that will never change,”

Previously, WhatsApp had made the announcement of delaying its latest business plans until May 2020. It reached out to its users, explaining to them the policy by displaying a series of ‘statuses’ on the messaging platform.
“We are committed to your privacy,” read the first status. It was followed by “WhatsApp doesn’t share your contacts with Facebook”, “WhatsApp can’t see your shared location”, and “WhatsApp can’t read or listen to your personal conversations as they’re end-to-end encrypted”.
