US Death Toll
The death toll in United States (US) has passed Italy numbers.
John Hopkins University said US Covid-19 fatalities was at 19,877.
Italy followed with 19,468. The US was also the first country to report 2,000 deaths in a single day, with 2,108 people dying in the previous 24 hours.
New York, the hardest-hit US state, saw 783 deaths on Friday, raising the tally to 8,627, governor Andrew Cuomo said at a briefing in Albany, the state capital.
Coronavirus Cure
A British Scientist has expressed hope that coronavirus medicine could be ready by September this year.
According to an Oxford University professor Sarah Gilbert British Scientist who is heading a team of scientist trying to develop cure for the dread virus said.
Sarah Gilbert who professor of vaccinology said the human trials will begin next week.
Sarah Gilbert revealed about the medicine in an interview to the Times of London Newspaper.
Moreover She was 80% confident that the vaccine her team is developing will work, based on other things that we have done with this type of vaccine.
She said such a timeframe “just about possible if everything goes perfectly,” but added: “Nobody can promise it’s going to work.”
Gilbert said the lockdown measures imposed in the UK would make it hard to test a vaccine because the virus not spreading as quickly,
But said it could trialed in countries where social distancing measures are less strict, thereby indicating more quickly whether the vaccine is effective.
