KARACHI: Light rain is likely to hit a few parts of the metropolitan city by evening while mercury dropped once again as another cold wave gripped Karachi.

The severity of the cold that became mild in the last two days has once again intensified and the city is to brave cold winds from today.

The current temperature of the city is 11 degrees Celsius and the wind is blowing at a speed of 8km/hour.

The day will remain partly cloudy while rain is expected in a few parts of the city.

Day temperature will be 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, other parts of the country have been braving severely cold temperatures with the mercury dropping very low in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Quetta, Ziarat and other areas of northern Balochistan have been experiencing heavy snowfall and rain paralyzing life in various cities.

Keeping the situation in view, an emergency has been declared in all snow and rains affected areas of Balochistan.

Meanwhile, frost is likely to occur over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Pothohar region and Kashmir during morning hours.
