The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the likelihood of fog and smog in various parts of Punjab within the next 24 hours.
These conditions may be prevalent in locations such as Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Okara, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Joharabad, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and their surroundings during the morning hours.
The PMD explained that this weather pattern is due to a westerly wave affecting the western regions of the country.
The overall forecast for most areas in the country is dry weather, with the possibility of cloudy conditions accompanied by rain, wind, and thunderstorms in northwestern Balochistan.
Over the past 24 hours, dry weather has been the prevailing condition in most parts of the country, particularly in the northern regions.
Some of the lowest recorded minimum temperatures during this period include Leh at -05°C, Skardu at -03°C, and Kalam at -01°C.
However, Sargodha and its suburbs have been experiencing severe smog today, which has resulted in a reduction of visibility.
The Sargodha traffic police have urged travelers to keep fog lights on along with keeping their speed slow.
The health experts have urged citizens to use face masks to stay protected from smog-related diseases.
