In Glasgow, a family seeking asylum was kept outside in the bitter cold while they waited for temporary housing.

Henry Okwo described how Home Office contractor Mears Group carried his wife and three small children to York from a distance of 200 miles.

Mears claimed that the family’s home application was completed on short notice, but Mr. Okwo said that a Home Office interview had already been conducted a month earlier.

Now, a charity has placed them at a hotel in Glasgow.

Before the property factor phoned the police, they waited there in the subzero weather for hours.

Regarding Mr. Okwo’s job eligibility, the Home Office stated that in extreme cases where an applicant does not fit immigration regulations, it may consider petitions for permission to work.
